How a Colorbration learns

It learns from the edits you finish in Lightroom Classic, and from past edits you add.

4 min read·Updated recently

A Colorbration starts as your preset. It learns from the edits you finish in Lightroom Classic. Each trained version then adjusts every photo toward how you finish it.

From your handoffs

After a handoff with Edit, keep editing in Lightroom Classic as usual. Once you have left a photo's edits alone for about 12 hours, Cullibrate reads the finished edits from your catalog, without opening Lightroom or changing anything, and learns from them.

From past edits

  1. Right after you create a Colorbration, choose Find my past edits. Later, open it from Home → Colorbrations and choose Add past edits.
  2. Find: select the Lightroom catalogs to scan. Cullibrate finds them by itself; choose Add catalogs if one is missing. It reads them without opening Lightroom or changing anything.
  3. Review the set: keep the edits that are your style. Group them by catalog or by preset, and use Refine to narrow them, for example to exported photos or flagged picks.
  4. Upload: check the summary and choose Upload. A reduced-size version of each photo uploads in the background while you keep working.

Learning needs the free Adobe DNG Converter. Cullibrate tells you if it is missing and continues by itself once it is installed.

Training in the Alpha

When new edits are added, the Colorbration asks for a new version. In the Alpha, training requires some manual preparation, so it waits until we prepare it. Until a version is ready, your preset keeps applying on every handoff. Manage shows where it is:

  • Waiting to train: it's in the queue. You'll be advised.
  • Checking your edits…, then Training its first version… or Training a new version…: training is under way, sometimes with a percentage.
  • Finishing the new version…: almost done.
  • Now trained: the new version applies from your next handoff.
  • Training didn't finish: it runs again after your next edits.

Choose a version

Manage → Choose a version lists every trained version, plus Preset only. Pick one to use it instead of the latest. While you've chosen a version yourself, a newer one shows as new in the list and applies when you pick it.
