Locations lets you inspect supported photos and videos where they already live, without creating a File Collection first. Use it for a quick browse, to check a card, or to find the folder you want to turn into a workspace.
Open a location
- Open File Collections from the title bar to enter Library.
- Under Locations, use the disclosure arrows to expand Home, Pictures, disks, mounted cards, drives, and their folders.
- Select a folder to show its supported media in the contact sheet. Use Back and Forward to revisit folders from this session.
Include subfolders
Turn on Include subfolders when photos are arranged below the selected folder. The option is not shown for Home or for folders with no child folders. Cullibrate turns it on by default for a camera card containing DCIM and when you select a populated DCIM folder.
Review photos in place
- Click a photo to select it. Double-click it to open Preview with the folder filmstrip.
- Use star ratings, colour labels, and tag / reject controls directly in Grid or Preview.
- Right-click selected photos to add them to an existing File Collection or reveal the source in Finder or File Explorer.
Move into the full workspace
Locations is a transient explorer, not a saved working set. Open the folder as a File Collection when you want Cullibrate to remember the shoot and provide ranking, grouping, filters, the faces panel, and the rest of the photo-selection workspace.
- For an ordinary folder, choose Open as new File Collection.
- For a mounted card or drive, choose Configure new File Collection to review the Copy & Cull options.
- On a camera card, you can also right-click the card in Locations and choose Ingest.
